1979 Lancia Beta coupe for sale
Current owner purchased this 1979 2.0 Beta Coupe in 1988 with 60K miles on the clock. It has a version of the Zagato Targa Special Edition black and gold paint job and (more importantly) the Zagato wheels, grillework, and badges. Driven on a regular basis through January 1991 when placed in dry barn storage. Mileage at that point was between 80 and 85K. Oil was changed every 3K miles and normal maintenance performed by an Italian car shop in Allentown. Performed a complete top end job at 70K miles in June 1989 including all belts. No obvious leak spots under the car.
Barn Find Lancia
The car is a “classic” barn find and has not been on the road since it went into the barn. It is currently registered and insured (PA) but not inspected. Clear title. All service record and receipts available. All mechanical systems seem to be functional. Interior is shot. Car will need a thorough reconditioning, if not restoration. Some rust at the obvious places (edges of the hood and trunk lids, bottoms of the doors).
Spare parts include
- well greased/oiled subframe which was the “historic” failure spot of some early (1975/1976) Betas. The car will need an interior refurbishing (the seats are cloth and are shot), though the dashboard, instrument panel, and headliner look intact.
- Spare 1.8 engine with speed mods from Bayless and Faza (cams, DNCF Webers, etc.) along with the 5-speed transmission.
- large assortment of Beta coupe parts, mostly from 1.8 cars, including several true wheels, splash guards, interior and exterior trim, window mechanisms, front and rear seats (leather worn/cracked but frames and foam apparently good), and much more.
- Also an entire library of Lancia and Beta literature–owners and shop manuals (1.8 and 2.0), technical bulletins, marque histories, near complete runs of the American Lancia Club quarterly magazine Lanciana (1971 through 2004) and the ALC bi-monthly newsletter Lancia Enthusiast (1983 through 1987).
Price for whole “package” $3,500.00
It will be the buyer’s responsibility to transport the car and the additional parts from their current location in the Hellertown/Center Valley, PA area.
